Running an agency often looks exciting from the outside.
People see the websites, the client projects, the new partnerships, and the growth. What they don’t see are the small mistakes, unexpected lessons, and late-night discoveries that shape you into a better entrepreneur.
Yesterday was a perfect example.
At midnight, I had an important client acquisition meeting on Google Meet. The conversation went well. We discussed the client's goals, challenges, opportunities, and how M&W Labs could help them grow.
After the meeting ended, I felt confident because I had recorded the entire session.
Or so I thought.
When I went back to review the recording, I realized something frustrating: I had recorded the video but forgot to record the audio.
The entire conversation was there visually, but the most valuable part—the client's words, concerns, and feedback—was missing.
For a moment, I was annoyed with myself.
But then I remembered something every entrepreneur eventually learns:
Mistakes are tuition fees for experience.
Instead of getting stuck on the mistake, I created a new meeting checklist to ensure it never happens again.
Then today brought another lesson.
I discovered email warm-up for the first time.
Like many agency owners, I've spent time learning lead generation, outreach, sales, websites, SEO, and automation. But today I learned how important email warm-up is for cold outreach and deliverability.
I learned that even the best email campaign can fail if your domain reputation isn't properly built.
A great offer means nothing if your emails land in spam.
That single lesson may save hundreds or even thousands of future emails from never being seen.
What I love about entrepreneurship is that the learning never stops.
One day you're learning how to close a client.
The next day you're learning technical email infrastructure.
Then you're learning sales psychology, branding, AI automation, project management, hiring, finance, or leadership.
Being an agency owner means becoming a student for life.
Every mistake teaches something.
Every client teaches something.
Every challenge teaches something.
And every day gives you a chance to become slightly better than you were yesterday.
Today's lesson:
Record the audio.
Record the audio.
Warm up the emails.
Keep learning.
Because growth isn't built from perfection.
It's built from lessons repeated consistently over time.
